The Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS), LUMS, in collaboration with Al Jazeera and the Pulitzer Center’s project on climate change in Pakistan, invites you to a critical panel discussion titled ‘Can Pakistan Survive Climate Change?’—a conversation bridging science, storytelling, and lived experience.
This event will explore how climate activism and community resilience are shaping Pakistan’s response to the climate crisis. The discussion will highlight the voices of those on the frontline, the impacts of climate change on communities, and the urgent need for collective action. It will also examine the media’s role and its shortcomings in raising awareness about this critical issue. Students and faculty engaged in climate issues, activism, and research are encouraged to participate.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Faras Ghani, editor at Al Jazeera English and recipient of the Pulitzer Center’s reporting fellowship on climate change in Pakistan.
