BSc Class of 2016 Signs MoU to Establish Class Fund
On January 26, 2026, LUMS hosted representatives of the BSc Class of 2016 for the signing of an MoU formalising the establishment of a class fund to support undergraduate students on financial aid. The partnership reflects the Class of 2016’s collective commitment to expanding access to quality education and strengthening opportunities for deserving students at LUMS.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Awais Saeed, Country Manager, inDrive Pakistan, on behalf of the BSc Class of 2016, and Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor, LUMS. Also in attendance were Mr. Zunair Talat, Logistics Manager, Bulleh Shah Packaging; Mr. Shahrukh Swati, Co-Founder & COO, Nearpeer.org; and Mr. Ammar Ali Ayub, Co-Founder & CEO, Nearpeer.org, whose leadership and collaboration played a key role in bringing this initiative to fruition.
Reflecting on the significance of alumni engagement, Dr. Ali Cheema expressed his appreciation, “It is inspiring to see you all here together with a shared purpose to give back to the University.” He also added, “Students take strong ownership of their learning and continue to do exceptional work, including building impactful startups that reflect the institution’s culture of innovation.”
Through this Class Fund, the BSc Class of 2016 is ensuring that talented students can pursue their education irrespective of financial circumstances. The initiative underscores the enduring bond between LUMS and its alumni, who continue to play an active role in advancing the University’s mission.
