Maldives National University and HEC Delegation Explore Student Life and Learning at LUMS
LUMS hosted a delegation from the Maldives National University (MNU) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, on Friday, October 3, 2025. The visiting group from MNU included Dr. Aishath Shehenaz Adam, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Abdul Rahman Mubaarique, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Finance & Administration; a cohort of 20 students; and officials from HEC, including Ms. Ayesha Ikram, Director General Scholarships. Facilitated by HEC, the visit aimed to provide students from the Maldives with exposure to Pakistan’s higher education ecosystem.

The session started with welcome remarks by Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, and Dr. Adnan Zahid, Dean, Office of Student Affairs, LUMS. This was followed by a presentation by the Office of Advancement, which highlighted the University’s mission, academic programmes, and community impact.
Representatives from the LUMS Student Council also engaged with the visitors, sharing insights into the University’s academic rigour, diversity, and vibrant campus life. They highlighted the importance of peer support in helping students navigate academic and personal challenges.

Dr. Adam expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and the opportunity for meaningful exchange. The visit concluded with an interactive campus tour, allowing the delegation to experience firsthand the dynamic and engaging student life at LUMS.
This engagement underscores LUMS’ commitment to building global academic partnerships, promoting cross-cultural learning, and strengthening regional collaboration in higher education.
