LUMS Pioneers Digital Innovation with Binance
LUMS has entered an exciting partnership with Binance, the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and digital asset infrastructure provider, to advance education in emerging digital technologies. By strengthening ties in the areas of training and development, this collaboration will unlock meaningful opportunities in blockchain, Web 3.0, and digital assets.

The beginning of this collaboration was marked by an MoU signing event, where LUMS welcomed the Binance global team to formalise the engagement. Representatives present from Binance included Mr. Humza Khan, Growth Manager at Binance Pakistan, and Mr. Nadar Khaqan Abbasi, Manager Binance Exchange.
Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor, LUMS, apprised the guests about LUMS’ various advancements, emphasising the need to scale up broad-based solutions for inclusive national growth. He was joined by Dr. Zartash Uzmi, Dr. Basit Shafiq, and Dr. Hamad Alizai, faculty from the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering and key members of the Centre for Digital Assets Research (CeDAR), the newly established LUMS centre for exploring digital asset technologies.

CeDAR’s main goals include creating Blockchain technology awareness, being an intellectual hub to support policymaking, and leading research and development initiatives for local and global collaborations in industry and academia.
Together, CeDAR and Binance Academy aim to co-develop industry-relevant workshops, academic modules, internship pathways, and student ambassador initiatives, equipping the next generation of learners with the knowledge and skills to lead in a rapidly evolving digital world.
