Umama Usman Makes LUMS Proud at the South Asian Regional Badminton Championship 2025
Umama Usman, a BSc Management Science student from the Class of 2026 at LUMS and a proud member of the University’s Badminton Team, has brought great honour to the institution by representing Pakistan at the South Asian Regional Badminton Championship 2025, held in Bhutan and organised by Badminton Asia.
Competing in the U-23 category, Umama’s outstanding performance contributed to Pakistan’s Silver Medal in the team event. She also secured two Bronze Medals in the Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories. In addition, she reached the quarterfinals in Women’s Singles and advanced to the semifinals in two doubles categories, a testament to her consistency and determination on the international stage.

Her achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a proud moment for the entire LUMS community. This success reflects her hard work, dedication, and resilience, as well as the relentless efforts of her coach, Mr. Adnan Aziz, who has consistently trained and mentored the LUMS Badminton Team to compete at the highest levels. By making both LUMS and the Office of Sports, Wellness and Recreation (SWR) proud, Umama’s success exemplifies the University’s spirit of excellence and commitment, and serves as an inspiration for other students to pursue their sporting ambitions with the same passion and perseverance.
LUMS looks forward to celebrating many more such achievements that continue to bring pride and recognition to the University at both national and international platforms.
